The company METAX was founded in 1985 in Schöneck as a GmbH with the business areas "mechanical seals" and "all steel membrane couplings". In the 90s the sealing program was complemented by the product lines "rotary joints" and "hydraulic seals", whereby the core competence in sealing technologies was expanded. Looking for innovative products the co-operation with the company FLUIDOL, USA was stipulated by contract in 2009. Thereby the range of sealing products could be enriched by a high-quality product of the line of lip seal systems. In this co-operation,  METAX is responsible for the design, construction and important parts of the manufacturing as well as the distribution on the European market.

In 1988 a new business area was gained with the production of medical devices, which still means an important part of the actual enterprise and is continuously extended as certified manufacturer.

In 1993 the head office was relocated to Hungen-Obbornhofen into modern, newly-built facilities. A generous laid out extension of the manufacturing capacity in 2008 layed the foundations for a further successful business development.

As a manufacturer we are well grounded in the calculation and design of our products. Our own construction and product development as well as the high in-house production depth on our site as owner-managed company are the basis of our business success.

We are certified according DIN EN 9001:2008 and EN ISO 13485:2003 and attach importance to the consequent realisation of our quality goals which is ensured by a continuous education and training of our employees.
