The sensed mechanical seal from METAX is a standardized product that is easy to integrate into existing machines. It is available in all common materials and can also be easily retrofitted. This makes it possible to monitor seals efficiently and flexibly — both for new systems and for retrofits.
Learn more about one of the most important innovations in sealing technology that is one step ahead — the first tried and tested, sensed mechanical seal. Mechanical seals are the industry standard for sealing rotating shafts in pumps.
Seal damage leads to costly production downtime, which can be avoided. More and more major brands are already involved in projects to implement Industry 4.0. Develop your business through these industrial changes, which offer opportunities for both large and smaller companies.
METAX's innovative sensor solutions ensure maximum transparency and reliability when monitoring mechanical seals in rotating systems. A solution that every mechanical seal user must know if they want to be successful in the Industry 4.0 market environment.

We provide you with a plug & play solution so that you too can equip your pump series with smart seals.
Together, we will find solutions for your requirements in terms of installation space, media durability, practicality, certifications and the option of modularization and integration into your product portfolio.

The demonstrator consists of a drive that can accelerate the drive shaft up to 2,300 rpm via a belt. A deep groove ball bearing as a fixed bearing and a cylindrical roller bearing as a floating bearing keep the shaft in position. The sensed mechanical seal, as well as rolling bearing monitoring and axial thrust measurement can be shown live.
In front of the moving warehouse is there a with the M3G sensor sensed mechanical seal equipped by METAX. The slide ring can simply be removed and lubricated with water for demonstration purposes. Since no liquid flows back to lubricate the sliding pair during operation, the seal quickly enters an operating state with increased wear and then runs dry.
The BeMos one controller Switch off the demonstrator when either dry running is detected on the seal or the temperature on the counter ring rises above 100°C. The shutdown prevents the seal from breaking.
